| QUANTUM TELEPORTATION The transportation of a replication of an object is called teleportation. A teleporter would scan the object and recreate a perfect copy in a different location. Despite the “sciencefiction” aspect of this technology, IBM Fellow Charles H. Bennett can show unbelievers that teleportation is “possible inprincipal, but only if the original is destroyed."Because of it’s fantastic nature, teleportation has been generally thought of skeptically by most scientists as it was against the laws of quantum mechanics. The laws of quantum mechanics forbid “any measuring or scanning process from extracting all the information in an atom or other object. According to the uncertainty principal, the more accurately an object is scanned, the more it is disturbed by the scanning process, until one reaches a point where the object’s original state has been completely disrupted, still without having extracted enough information to make a perfect replica.”But there is a way to get around the problem the laws of quantum mechanics present. Scientists believe in the possibilities of the Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen effect. (For more information on this effect, click on the above inline link to the source.) Citing this effect, Bennett can show a way to get around the laws of quantum mechanics in the case of teleportation. Here is a brief explanation of how quantum teleportation would work:“ In conventional facsimile transmission the original is scanned, extracting partial information about it, but remains more or less intact after the scanning process. The scanned information is sent to the receiving station, where it is imprinted on some raw material (eg. paper) to produce an approximate copy of the original. In quantum teleportation two objects B and C are first brought into contact and then separated. Object B is taken to the sending station, while object C is taken to the receiving station. At the sending station object B is scanned together with the original object A which one wishes to teleport, yielding some information and totally disrupting the state of A and B. The scanned information is sent to the receiving station, where it is used to select one of several treatments to be applied to object C, thereby putting C into an exact replica of the former state of A.” FREE ENERGY Physicist Bruce DePalma claims that he has a way to tap “free energy” latent in the space all around us. By using a magnetized flywheel rotating very quickly with the aid of a motor DePalma claims that his free energy machine “can generate more than five times the energy it consumes. The perplexing thing about this claim is that it is against the physical laws of the conservation of energy: “the output of energy cannot be more than the input.” But despite the objection from the laws of physics the proposed free energy machine is being studied by various free-energy research associations in Germany, Switzerland, Japan, Korea, and the Netherlands. The claim of the free-energy generator is that it can produce about 500 percent efficiency -it can produce 5 times more energy than it uses. Where is this energy coming from? Nobody yet knows: “energy is being obtained from a previously unknown and unexplained source.” What physicians will agree to, though, is that there is a potential and a possibility that energy could be extracted from space. For free space, say out there beyond Earth, is not empty as we may think. There are manyrandom vacuum fluctuations which cause huge amounts of energy to be generated. Thefree-energy generator claims that these sources of energy can be tapped: DePalma believesthat he is tapping into the zero-point energy of space. He explains “that space is all around us like the sea of water the fish swim in. The only way you know it’s there is to distort it in some way, and the simplest way to distort space is with a magnet.” Against the dangers warned of by modern science, such as that tapping zero-point energy will lead to mass astronomical destruction, DePalma argues that his conception of the universe is one which allows energy to be evoked from space itself. COLD FUSION Cold Fusion is a reaction that produces excess heat, helium, and a low level of neutrons. An interesting and intriguing result of Cold Fusion is the excess of heat. Some cold fusion devices have yielded up 400 to 500 watts output from less than 1 watt input. It is not known where the exact source of the energy yielded through cold fusion comes from. It has been speculated that perhaps thisis a new source of energy never observed before, which occasionally produces nuclearreactions as a side effect. Another amazing trait of the cold fusion reaction is that “ no cold fusion cell has ever shown any sign of petering out for lack of fuel. The cell that produced 86 megajoules was deliberately turned off after two months. If it had been left on, it might have run for years, or decades. Nobody knows how long it might go.”You may ask: “ “If cold fusion cells are nuclear, why aren't they extremely hot?” Many people think that because nuclear reactions produce gigantic amounts of energy, that means they must be very hot, like the inside of a fission reactor, or the sun. This is incorrect. Cold fusion releases enormous quantities of energy in the form of heat, not ionizing radiation, as in hot fusion. This heat energy is hundreds to thousands of times what ordinary chemical reactions could possibly yield. If "cold fusion" is a heretofore unknown form of benign nuclear reaction – as most researchers in the cold fusion fieldbelieve – there is more potential cold fusion energy in a cubic mile of sea water than in all of the oil reserves on earth. Cold fusion, in contrast to hot fusion, occurs in relatively simple apparatus. Cold fusion reactions are not at all like conventional hot fusion reactions. If they were, cold fusion experimenters would be killed by massive flows of radiation-neutrons and gamma rays.” This incredible process of cold fusion is still a mystery - when it comes to possible explanations, researchers have proposed such things as “large thermal energy releases, low-level nuclear phenomena, and the absence of massive harmful radiation and other conventional nuclear effects. There is yet no single, generally accepted theory that explains all these phenomena. There is no doubt, however, that the phenomena exist and will eventually be explained. It is difficult to come up with a theory that fits all the data. The explanation might lie in nuclear reactions, exotic "super-chemistry" requiring some modifications to quantum mechanics, or something even more bizarre (such as tapping o fthe zero-point energy of space at the atomic level).” Pretty wild! This is science. |
