How to Access the Newsgroup from Malaspina Labs

• Open the browser, and find the course website
  http://www.mala.bc.ca/~soules/eng315/315index.htm
• Select Newsgroup in the menu near the top of the page. This should bring you to this page.
• Select the link to the newsgroup above. This should load Outlook Express, the Windows newsreader application.
• From the top menu bar, select Tools, then Accounts (3rd from bottom).
• Select Properties (3rd from top).
• Fill in your Name and Email Address in the appropriate windows. Select OK.
• Select Close (for the Internet Accounts window).
• Double click on the English 315 newsgroup listing if that option appears. You should see the newsgroup postings listed in the newsreader window. If not, return to the browser and load the newsreader again from there by selecting Newsgroup.
• To start a new thread, select New Post. To add to an existing thread, select Reply Group. Delete what you don't need from the former posting and add your own message.
