What I intended to do on this web-page was tell you about my favorite city in the world-- Paris. But I found that I couldn't do this. I tried. I wrote roughly seven different versions of this essay, and after rereading each I'd think to myself, "This has to be one of the crappiest things I've ever written." I tried the serious approach. I tried the humorous approach. I tried a mix of the two, but nothing worked. Then I realized that it is impossible to describe Paris in one essay. Sure, you can ramble on about the Tour Eiffel, baguettes and berets, but it just doesn't do the city justice. All I can tell you is that Paris is a mixture of everything-- tasteful and tacky, old and new, ugly and beautiful. People seem to either love it or hate it, so don't trust anyone else's opinion. Find out for yourself. That's honestly the only thing I can say about Paris-- trust me, I have a trash can full of bad writing to prove it.

I can, however, tell you about this photo. I took it at the Père Lachaise cemetery in Paris. This cemetery is the final resting place for such famous names as Jim Morrison and Chopin. Becasue of the number of well-known inhabitants, the cemetery comes comlplete with a map to the more famous cites-- somewhat like the "Maps to the Celebs' Hollywood Homes" idea, but a more morbid version.
