Since July 1, 2005, Steve Lane has been Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at Vancouver Island University (formerly Malaspina University-College). This web page will remain available, but is not likely to be updated regularly for the term of his appointment since it was designed primarily as a teaching resource.

Steven M. Lane has taught English and Media Studies at Vancouver Island University in Nanaimo, B.C., since 1982. In addition to a Ph.D. from the University of Victoria, Steve holds a B.A. from Simon Fraser University and an M.A. from the University of California, Santa Barbara. His areas of literary expertise are the English Romantic poets (particularly Wordsworth), Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and Nineteenth Century English literature.
