Students will be able to choose their favorite Franklin book and justify why they have chosen that particular one.
Differentiating Between Needs and Wants
Students must identify the difference between their personal needs and wants. The teacher will read the students a variety of literature and possibly perform a puppet show depicting through story the difference between needs and wants. Students have to identify whether something is a need or a want, and why.
Identifying Good and Bad Behaviours
Students will be able to identify between good and bad behaviours of character within the story, Albert's Old Shoes, and justify their answer.
Investigating the Morality of a Story Hero
Students are asked to identify good and bad character types. Their task is to label characters as good or bad, and to determine whether a character can have both traits.
Jack, of Beanstalk Fame: Good or Bad?
Students listen to Jack and the Beanstalk. Students will be asked if Jack is good or bad. Students will be asked to pick out evidence from the book that supports their decision.
Let's Make A Theory
Create a theory or reason to explain how the dinosaurs became extinct.
Who is the Grinch?
Students will consider whether or not the Grinch is a good or bad person on the basis of his actions throughout the story of The Grinch Who Stole Christmas.
